About

My name is Kevin, and I help homeowners make clear, informed decisions during residential remodels—especially when the stakes are high and the path forward isn’t obvious.
Whether you're trying to stay within a tight budget or breaking up with a failing contractor, I've been in your shoes. Few people can GC their own remodel. Those who can earn the name One Tough Chicken. I'm here to help you become one.
Background
In 2016, I was forced to take over my own remodel after firing a general contractor. The project was already in progress and six months behind; I completed it in four. As a glutton for punishment, I decided to repeat the experience and GC another remodel from start to finish. In 2023, I personally demo’d, framed, and managed an entire gut renovation and 800 square foot addition from start to finish.
Since 2024, I’ve worked as a Project Manager for a residential builder, managing projects across a wide range of budgets—from small make-ready scopes to multi-million-dollar builds—almost entirely in Austin and within the local permitting environment.
How I work
My role is advisory. I don’t manage construction, hire trades, pull permits, or supervise work. I help homeowners identify risk, pressure-test assumptions, and make decisions with a clear understanding of downstream consequences.
This work is most valuable before problems become expensive—but I also support homeowners who are already mid-project and need clarity fast.
