Independent construction guidance to help Austin homeowners avoid expensive remodel mistakes
I provide paid, advisory-only construction consulting for homeowners who want clarity before making high-risk decisions in complex remodels and additions. This service engagement is focused on advisory support — helping you understand risk, sequencing, inspection-driven constraints, and downstream consequences before decisions are locked in.
Clients typically come to me to pressure-test scope, budget, and timeline before committing to decisions that are difficult or expensive to undo. Most problems in residential construction aren’t execution issues — they’re decision problems made too early or too late.

I currently manage residential construction projects in Austin ranging from small make-ready scopes to multi-million-dollar custom builds. My consulting work draws on active, local experience — not theory or generic best practices.

A focused, 90-minute advisory session designed to identify the highest-risk decisions in your remodel and help you determine clear next steps.
- Review scope, budget, and schedule assumptions
- Identify inspection and sequencing risks tied to permitted scope
- Pressure-test whether acting as your own GC is realistic
- Answer specific, high-impact questions
You’ll leave with clarity on what matters most and what to do next.
$495 — 90 minutes
Pre-Construction Advisory
Structured guidance during planning, without hiring a full-service GC
Ongoing advisory support during planning and early construction for homeowners who want structured guidance based on real-world construction management experience. This service helps clarify key decisions before and during execution, while leaving execution roles with your own builder, architect, or trade partners.
- Phased review of plans, budgets, and schedules
- Permit and inspection strategy guidance
- Sequencing and decision support before work begins
- Written feedback at key milestones
For scopes where homeowners commonly struggle to source qualified trades, I can share informational options to help start conversations. These are provided as a starting point only — clients remain responsible for vetting, contracting, and managing all vendors directly.
Custom scope — typically $2,500–$3,500

For homeowners who are mid-project, have recently fired their contractor or need targeted, expert guidance on sequencing, risk, and next steps. This engagement leverages current construction management experience to help stabilize projects and clarify choices without stepping into execution roles.
- Project triage and risk assessment
- Second-opinion review of work in progress
- Guidance on sequencing, scope changes, and next steps
- Decision support during active construction
$200 per hour (2-hour minimum)
Booking & Payment
All services are billed in advance. The initial consult is the required starting point for most clients, and additional services are scoped or scheduled after that session. I don’t offer unpaid calls, estimates, or project reviews outside of a booked engagement.
If you’re unsure which option applies to your situation, start with the initial consult.
Scope of Engagement
I manage residential construction professionally in Austin, including trade coordination, sequencing, and schedule control. For client projects, however, my role is strictly advisory.
This engagement does not include hiring or supervising trades, pulling permits, handling city submittals, or acting as a general contractor. Execution responsibilities remain with your architect, builder, or trade partners.
My consulting focuses on helping homeowners understand risk, inspection-driven sequencing constraints, and the downstream consequences of decisions before they become expensive to change.
